Alive
A music project in Maidstone in 1995.
In the 70s, the Glam-rock band, Chicory Tip, started out in the town and topped the UK charts for three weeks in early 1972 with Son Of My Father.
Airhead, originally from nearby Snodland, had a minor chart hit with Funny How in the early 90s.
The Maidstone bands on these recordings are perhaps more diverse, covering mod to rock'n'roll, grunge to pop and heavy rock to mainstream.
To coincide with the release, these bands performed live at the 1995 Maidstone River Festival and their tracks played on Maidstone Festival Radio. Only 500 copies of this CD were made. The project was funded by Maidstone Borough Council.
